Vancouver High School Group Activity

Vancouver high school students performing the Dragon Gate skit

On March 10, Western Region held a joint high school group meeting for students in Vancouver Areas 1, 2 and 4. Twenty-four people attended the meeting which was designed to bring teenagers together for a fun-filled afternoon of activities at the SGI Canada Vancouver Culture Centre.

Some of the youth performed a skit from the story of the Dragon Gate waterfall to encourage others to courageously overcome their obstacles in order to achieve their goals. It is said that fish that reach the top of the eponymous waterfall will transform into dragons with great powers, but first they must overcome many obstacles as they struggle to get there.

This is just the first youth-focused meeting as there will be more in the works in the coming months.
