800 Attend Western Region District Meetings
By Gary Wu, Vancouver
Despite record breaking rainfall in the month of November, many districts in Vancouver and the rest of Western Region held their annual general meetings in great spirits. The general meetings was a time to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai’s founding and a time for the districts to celebrate their progress and invite new guests. Approximately 650 practitioners and 150 guests, for a total of 800 attended the lively meetings.
From dance lessons to avian show-and-tell sessions, there were plenty of opportunities for children to participate. The young-at-heart too shared their personal struggles and victories and what they look forward to accomplishing in 2018. Everyone now looks forward to a sunnier forecast and a promising future.
