SGI Canada mounted the exhibition “Transforming Lives: The Power of Human Rights Education” at The Parliament of the World’s Religions conference held in Toronto from November 2 to 6. Held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the theme of the conference was “The Promise of Inclusion, the Power of Love: Pursuing Global Understanding, Reconciliation and Change.”

The Parliament was attended by over 10,000 people from a wide variety of faith backgrounds, many of whom were able to visit the exhibit. Fourteen SGI Canada practitioners volunteered to support the booth and share the goals of SGI with visitors, providing SGI President Ikeda’s 2017 and 2018 Peace Proposals to those who were interested.

As well, SGI Canada presented a session introducing SGI and the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism that received a very positive response.
